MEETING OF DIRECTOR WITH STUDENT INTERNS

Every year, ITeMS, receive students from various institutions in the country for 3, 6, or 12months internship which usually starts with orientation programme. The first one for this year it was held on March 30, 2023.

The interactive session, led by the Director, Mrs Abiodun Alao commenced at 11:00am, with a welcome address and overview of the units. The Director emphasized the objective of the program and urged the interns to maximize the opportunity to solve identified challenges and make meaningful impact.

During the session, interns were also given opportunity to voice their concerns and identify issues requiring IT solutions.

In conclusion, the Director further advised interns to:

1.      Build strong relationships and partnership in assigned projects.

2.      Identify IT problems that require solutions.

3.      Explore available IT certification programs on platforms such as Cousera and Huawei.

4.      Ask questions and carry out assignments beyond expectations.

5.      Learn non-technical skills for professional relevance.

6.      Represent ITeMS well in appearance and conduct

One of the issues identified is the automation of interns recruitment. A team led Fakorede Damilola from the University of Ibadan was set up to find a solution to it.
